Context & Trades
We started the session looking for a globex gap fill, as we discussed this was a clean 100p 24500 to 24600 trade. Unfortunately, the bid didn't hold, and we were stopped out for a full loss of 50p. As I mentioned on stream, I need to get better with 1min OR execution - if no follow-through within the first minute or so, just cut it. After all, 1min OR breakout trades are trend continuation trades - no continuation, invalidated. My execution has been poor on these streams - why can't I trade like I do in Globex?!
We stayed patient and caught then the 1 min OR rejection short, with a tighter stop. This short entry worked out much better as the overhead supply held firm, allowing us to scalp a quick 18p win as the market rotated back down. We closed early, as we were wary buyers would defend the low volume node around 24350, and we were happy to take the win after the earlier loss.
Summary
While the second trade was a winner, the initial 50p stop-out left us in a hole, resulting in a net -32p for the stream. (Even worse - my target of 24350 printed minutes later after I closed! As I said - execution is a top priority for me to improve on). However, we were still green on the day from my globex efforts, so overall not a bad day.
